Fully automate your food processing line
Preparation is key when making formed products. A consistent mix of ingredients is essential, and the temperature and viscosity of the mix must be just right. GEA Batch2Flow keeps the dough perfectly and safely within the mixer until the former needs it. The mixture is then moved in small portions seamlessly and rapidly along a conveyor system straight into the former. No trolleys or cooled storage rooms are needed. The mixer controls portions as it loads the mix onto the conveyor, ensuring that temperature and viscosity are kept at optimal levels. This results in more accurate forming, reduced waste, and minimized downtime.
Main applications

Main applications include formable meat, poultry and plant-based mixtures.
Safeguard quality of mix
- Automatically supplies the mix to the former, continuously and in perfect condition
- Consistent and repeatable results: accurate portion control, minimal waste and downtime
- Full traceability as nothing is removed from the line
- Trouble-free forming, even with high-speed rotary formers
Less labor and improved hygiene
- No trollies, so less manual labor; a single person can operate complete the line
- Removes the opportunity for human error during the process
- Improves hygiene by removing the risk of contamination from trolleys hanging over the former during loading and storage
Save space, energy and cleaning costs
- Eliminates trolleys and energy-consuming cold stores
- Reduces the use of cleaning chemicals
- Reduced labor and energy costs improves plant profitability
Revolutionary technology: GEA Batch2Flow
GEA Batch2Flow ingeniously moves your mixed product from the mixer to the former, maintaining the product's temperature and viscosity while preventing contamination. The system keeps the mix perfectly and safely within the mixer until needed. Batch2Flow allows the mix to be discharged gently onto a belt conveyor in controlled portions, using the mixer’s rotating wings. As a result, the mix reaches the former at precisely the right temperature and viscosity. Customized discharge gates and specialized machine and line software ensure seamless operation.

The breakthrough that changed spray drying
In 1976, NIRO engineers responded to a competitive challenge by rethinking what spray drying could do. Their idea became the multi-stage dryer MSD. Fifty years later, the same fundamental principle helps turn liquids into the powders used in essential nutrition products and important medicines around the world. Refined through decades of engineering expertise, customer insight and continuous development, MSD is a story of innovation with lasting impact.
