GEA develops advanced Carbon Capture Solutions for industries such as cement, iron & steel, glass, chemicals, bioenergy and waste-to-energy. Our aim is to accelerate the transition a low-carbon industry in these sectors by providing full Carbon Capture Solutions that are modular in design, ensuring fast and economical implementation in existing plants.
GEA Carbon Capture Solutions: Full capture solutions and equipment for efficient CO2 capture
Our Carbon Capture equipment, covering Carbon Capture Storage and Utilization (CCS/CCU) plants, enables the efficient capture of CO2 from process-related emissions. This prevents its release into the atmosphere, utilizing or sequestrating the CO2 for the production of valuable products or long-term storage, thus contributing to industrial decarbonization and climate change mitigation technologies.
As a leader in the field of air pollution control solutions, we have unrivaled expertise in gas cleaning and heat recovery. We've extended this expertise with a comprehensive range of CO2 capture technologies, providing end-to-end Carbon Capture project support, including CO2 transportation and utilization options.
Our focus is on CO2 capture at the end of the process, favoring post-combustion methods due to their retrofit potential and minimal impact on upstream processes.
In line with industry best practices, we rely on aqueous amine solutions for CO2 capture and integrate them into our exceptional scrubber technologies within a highly standardized design. This approach ensures the rapid deployment of efficient capture solutions and helps you achieve your CO2 capture goals quickly and cost-effectively.
At GEA, we're not just selling equipment; we're partnering with companies to unlock the decarbonization potential across various carbon-intensive industries. Our commitment goes beyond providing products; it's about implementing viable, scalable Carbon Capture Solutions for a sustainable future. Find out how we can fully accompany you on your carbon capture journey and support you on your way to a more sustainable production.

Resource efficient solution
GEA Carbon Capture incl. Waste Heat Recovery (WHR)
GEA's integrated Waste Heat Recovery and Carbon Capture solution enables a significant reduction of the overall energy consumption and by that also of CO2 emissions (e.g. in the cement industry). It reduces the CO2 emissions by 11 % compared to a stand-alone Carbon Capture solution without Waste Heat Recovery.
*The Add Better label relates to the combination of GEA´s Carbon Capture and Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) technologies, released in September 2023. The comparison refers to a stand-alone Carbon Capture solution without Waste Heat Recovery.
