Samplers for Liquid Processing

Additional equipment is required when, along with the sampling itself, further functions have to be realized, such as: Sampling Systems and Accessories for Monitoring Product Quality.

For more than 30 years GEA has been developing and manufacturing samplers starting with the basic mechanics all the way up to complete controlled units. With solid, technically matured technology and vast practical experience GEA stands as a reliable partner in the field of sampling systems for liquid products.

Overview

Monitoring of the product quality or determination of the ingredients of the liquids is often only possible in a laboratory procedure. For this, regular samples have to be taken from the liquid (sampling).

It is possible to realize complete solutions for the actual sample to be taken - starting with sample bottle identification up to an automatic bottle transportation e.g. turntable.

For this task, GEA has developed sampling systems and accessories that are most suitable for the application in question.

Membrane sampler MS™

Membrane sampler for long production process samples type MS™The constant sampling of liquid from the production process is necessary to determine the ingredients in the laboratory or to monitor and record the product quality during the whole production process.

A constant sampling ensures the binding traceability according to EC guidelines 178/2002. 

By the pneumatics, the membrane is activated in a way that the sampling quantity is transported from the process to the sampling side. The typical sampling quantity is at 1 ml for each sampling cycle. 

The sampler type MSIII™ is a cost-effective solution to take constant samples even for very long production processes.

A digital signal or a relay contact of a superordinated control serve for the activation of the required pilot valve. 

Piston Sampler KS™

Piston Sampler KS™ for High Process Pressures The sampler type KS-P™ works according to the piston principle. Via the connected pneumatics the piston is moved to and fro between 2 positions. Independent from the current process pressure, the sampling quantity is transported from the process to the sample side.

The sampling quantity is between 0.5 and 3 ml each piston stroke. 

The sampler type KS-P™ is a cost-effective solution to take constant samples from a production process. 

A digital signal or a relay contact of a superordinated control serve for the activation of the required pilot valve. 

The sampler version of the „PT™“ type is equipped with additional cleaning connection points in order to reduce an entrainment and to ensure a fully automatic cleaning.

Peristaltic sampler (principle of a hose pump) type PS3™ – especially suitable for sampling on road tankers

The constant sampling of liquid out of the running intake process on tank trucks is necessary to determine the ingredients in the laboratory or to monitor and record the product quality during the whole production process. 

A constant sampling ensures the binding traceability acc. to EC guidelines 178/2002. 

The sampler type PS3™ works according to the principle of a hose pump and enables you to take the sample directly from the hose pipe.

  • Continuous operation because a stepping motor is used 
  • Low carry-over due to very small moistening areas in the system and additional control of backwashing 
  • Suitable for bacteriological sampling 
  • Good cleaning capability 
  • Bottle holders of different sizes

Peristaltic Sampler PS4™

The constant sampling of liquid out of the running intake process on tank trucks is necessary to determine the ingredients in the laboratory or to monitor and record the product quality during the whole production process.  

A constant sampling ensures the binding traceability acc. to EC guidelines 178/2002. 

The sampler type PS4™ works according to the principle of a hose pump and enables you to take the sample directly from the hose pipe. 

The separated construction and the possibility to take a tour and individual sample simultaneously is a feature of this type of sampler.

  • Separated control of individual and tour sample

An incorporated display and keyboard prepares the dual sampler PS4™ for an independent sampling including the function of a simple data capture:

  • Storage of tour- and individual data with date/time 
  • Voucher print-out of the data with the suppliers 
  • Data transfer via cable at the end of the tour

  • Automatic sample feed, e.g. by means of a round magazine 
  • Injection devices for low-germ sampling 
  • Identification systems for the sample bottles, such as barcode reader or CCD scanner 
  • RFID-Tag and read/write unit type DI-RAU™ for a comprehensive exchange of information from the sample bottle up to the laboratory 
  • Special design for a fully automatic and tamper-resistant sampling including cooling device 
  • CCD-Scanner for the barcode 
  • Read/write unit
