“Customers are no longer asking if they should reduce emissions, but how fast they can do it,” George Shepherd adds. “Many have committed publicly to science-based targets for 2030, 2035, or 2040. Now those dates are getting closer, and action has to start today.”

Turning ambition into reality requires more than individual upgrades. Starting with a blank sheet of paper makes holistic optimization easier, but most factories are not built from scratch. In reality, the majority of sustainability projects happen in existing plants.
