Discontinuous process with tank dissolving system DI-SUGAR-T™:

For the discontinuous process, mixers are used the capacity of which can vary according to the prepared granular sugar quantity. The required quantity of well-tempered dissolving water is provided in the mixer. By means of a pneumatical or mechanical conveyor the granular sugar is fed to the mixer. When the dissolving procedure is finished, the sugar syrup is filtered and pasteurized and then, in a filtered condition, passed on to a buffer tank.

Continuous process with hot/cold dissolving systems DI-SUGAR-H™ and DI-SUGAR-C™:

The continuous processes can be divided into cold and hot dissolving procedures. These procedures require a granular sugar silo and a corresponding tank capacity for sugar syrup. Granular sugar and dissolving water are fed to the dissolving tank in the desired ratio. A circulating pump ensures a homogeneous suspension. A partial flow is supplied to the buffer tank, either via a gap filter (cold dissolving) or a pasteurization (hot dissolving) with integrated filtration and deaeration.

The continuous GEA sugar dissolving system type DI-SUGAR-H™ is a reliable system for the production of pasteurized sugar syrup for the beverage industry.

Continuous hot dissolving system

The continuous GEA sugar dissolving system type DI-SUGAR-H™ is a reliable system for the production of pasteurized sugar syrup for the beverage industry.

For the production with a continuous sugar dissolving system a sufficiently dimensioned granulated sugar silo as well as sufficient tank capacity for sugar syrup. 

Granulated sugar is fed from the silo into the dissolving tank by means of a frequency-controlled conveyor. The pre-dissolving pump generates high turbulences in the dissolving tanks which leads to a homogenous sugar suspension. A partial flow (= system capacity) is continuously fed to the short-time heating unit. The temperature and the turbulences in the heat exchanger ensure the quick dissolving of the sugar granulates. The hot keeping zone is designed in a way that the required hot keeping time is kept and the sugar syrup is deaerated.

A downstream filter provides a particle-free sugar syrup. By passing through the regenerative section and cooling section the sugar syrup is cooled down to 25 °C and is then conveyed to the storage tanks. 

To ensure a high product quality, the monitoring of temperature and brix value are an integral part of the DI-SUGAR-H™.

Sugar dissolving system DI-SUGAR-C™ - Continuous cold dissolving system

The continuous GEA sugar dissolving system type DI-SUGAR-C™ is a reliable system for the production of sugar syrup for the beverage industry.

Continuous cold dissolving system

For the production with a continuous sugar dissolving system a sufficiently dimensioned granulated sugar silo as well as sufficient tank capacity for sugar syrup is required. 

A dissolving tank is filled with well-tempered water. Afterwards, by means of a frequency-controlled conveyor, granulated sugar is supplied from the silo into the dissolving tank. High turbulences in the dissolving tank generated by the pre-dissolving pump ensure a quick dissolving of the sugar granulates. 

A partial flow (system capacity) is continuously passed on from a separating room, which only allows the liquid phase of the sugar suspension to pass, to a deaerating tank. A downstream filter provides a particle-free sugar syrup. 

The product circulates in the system until the set Brix value is reached. Then, the pipes are cleared so that the product can pass on to the buffer tank. By means of dissolving water in counterflow, the heat is recovered which results in a favorable energy balance. To ensure a high product quality, the monitoring of the Brix value is an integral part of the DI-SUGAR-C™.

Sugar dissolving system DI-SUGAR-T™ - Discontinuous sugar dissolving in tanks

The discontinuous GEA sugar dissolving system type DI-SUGAR-T™ is a reliable system for the production of sugar syrup for the beverage industry.

Discontinuous sugar dissolving in tanks

The required quantity of well-tempered dissolving water is fed into the dissolving tank. When the agitator has been started, the granular sugar is supplied from the silo truck directly into the dissolving tank. The agitating capacity is dimensioned in a way that the dissolving time for the granules is as short as possible. After termination of the dissolving procedure, the sugar solution can be supplied into a buffer tank by passing a short time heating and/or filter.
