Traditional brewery Sternquell used GEA technology to consolidate production at its Plauen/Neuensalz site in Saxony’s Vogtland region. To make best use of valuable raw materials and resources, the new brewhouse installation implemented a networking system to fully automate the brewing process.
The Godallatte farm had a routine that is typical in Brazilian farms. There used to be two milkings a day, the first one in the early hours of the morning, which required an intense gathering of the herd, now comprised of 110 lactating Holstein cows. However, since August 2017 the traditional process of milk harvesting, which had always conducted the work of the Goin family, owner of the farm, has been replaced by a much more modern and simple operation based on the use of an automated milking system. The solution of choice was the Monobox from GEA.
Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu GmbH in Munich has replaced its previous batch-based system for the production of mixed beverages with a new, continuous in-line blending system. The in-line solution has been planned, supplied and installed by GEA, to fit in with the plant’s available space, while offering the opportunity for future expansion.

When replacement was due for a 20-year-old tunnel freezer in the Frosta plant in Lommatzsch, Germany, the company decided for a freezer system from GEA. Convincing features of the GEA system included a completely welded, insulated case in modular configuration, sequential defrost functions and engineering improvements. Freshly harvested vegetables can now be processed faster at Frosta, since the freezer, with its throughput of up to 17 metric tons per hour, enables approx. 15% greater throughput.
GEA demonstrated its ability to apply its process refrigeration expertise to meet the requirements of Linde Engineering North America - as part of a United States-based project - from the production stage to refrigeration and boil-off.
GEA has supplied its top-performing Electromix pump to a farmer in Ceredigion, South Wales to pump sand-laden manure over 200 metres away from the cow shed to the slurry store. The site is at Trefaesfach Farm in Ceredigion. Farmers Simon and Cristopher Stanfield decided to improve the housing for their dairy cows by building a new, 300 ft-long shed, adjacent to the existing buildings. The Stanfields decided to use deep sand bedding as it is both comfortable for the animals and it helps to reduce the incidences of mastitis.

It wasn’t long before our efforts paid off and we landed a great new contract,” says Marc Gombert.
