For ensuring maximum transparency in the markets, GEA participates in the annual EcoVadis CSR performance monitoring scheme. EcoVadis is the technical platform used in the audit program of the TfS initiative (“Together for Sustainability”). Since the first EcoVadis assessment in 2016, GEA has continuously improved, and in 2017 made the leap from bronze to silver status. GEA improved its rating in 2018, achieving 59 from 100 maximum points, strengthening its existing silver status. At its present level, GEA ranks among the top seven percent of mechanical engineering companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
GEA achieved its best result to date in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) climate assessment. The overall grade of B- corresponds to the "Management" level which is the same level achieved by GEA’s competitors when compared by sector and region.
According to CDP, it is the world's largest climate protection organization, conducting annual surveys of thousands of the largest listed companies regarding their emissions and climate protection strategies, on behalf of its members. The CDP Score Report enables companies to document their commitment to the environment and the measures they are taking to mitigate climate change. The project is supported by more than 800 institutional investors, who together manage more than USD 100 trillion in assets.
