Membrane de-alcoholization

In addition to proven evaporation technology for de-alcoholization, GEA offers reverse-osmosis membrane filtration as an efficient process for the removal of alcohol at low feed rates whilst ensuring high quality beer. Plant configurations for capacities of 2.5 hl/h up to 10 hl/h are available, modular in design the plants are compact and optimized for batch processing. Partial automation ensures high process reliability and low service expenditure.

Batch Mixing System with New Recipe Management System

GEA’s batch mixing system type DI-BATCH™ can be used to process dry substances and liquids to a finished syrup. One special feature of this system is the partial discharge from packing drums by means of a barrel pump and a hopper tank on weight cells. Dry ingredients are completely dissolved in tempered water in a dissolving tank by use of a high shear pump prior to being fed to the mixing tank. Bottles with liquid ingredients will be emptied and flushed in a separate tank for full utilization of concentrate. Employing customized OTAS® software ensures full traceability of ingredients via barcode labelling. GEA’s solution offers the customer an attractive recipe management system giving 100 % control but no risk due to full traceability of batches.

GEA rotoramic for the concentration of valuable products at low energy consumption

With the GEA rotoramic Membrane Disc Filters, GEA enters into the concentration of valuable products, i.e. beer recovery from surplus yeast. Breweries benefit from the lowest possible energy consumption in combination with gentle product treatment. Compared to the classic cross-flow filtration the energy consumption is 75 % lower. As is known from the ceramic elements, the discs are totally inert and fully resistant to chemicals. Typical processes beside the brewing applications are recovery of retentate of the fruit juice industry and concentration of valuable byproducts.

GSE 550 with up to 1500 hl/h throughput for the beverage market

As a partner to the largest breweries, we offer them the most powerful separators. This centrifuge provides perfect clarification performance and at the same time highest throughput capacities of up to 1.500 hl/h. The biggest centrifuge in the beverage market has been installed over 50 times globally. It is used in either high capacity processes or for special applications with high solids loads. The  large number of installed machines proves that this machine is the perfect match for large brewing operations, and this also applies for other industries, e.g. wineries. Every second liter of beer brewed in the world passes through GEA equipment; one reason for this is because customers value our reliable partnership.

IceCon®: The gentle concentration process

Water removal is the key to concentration of all aqueous products. Food product manufacturers need to concentrate their liquid products or intermediates for all kind of reasons. Think about economic transportation and storage, production of ingredients or new products, etc. GEA’s new generation freeze concentrators, called IceCon®, converts part of the water, present in the product into pure ice crystals. In crystalline form the water now can easily be separated from the remaining concentrated product. IceCon® gives all the advantages in terms of transport and shelf life, but adds a critical new blockbusting benefit – fresh flavour.

Since the juice is never subjected to extended heating, it retains all its natural freshness, aroma and taste. The outcome is a concentrate of unprecedented product quality!

The new GEA Hilge HYGIA

The new GEA HYGIA range combines the proven characteristics of the single-stage centrifugal pumps GEA Hilge Euro-HYGIA® and GEA Hilge F&B-HYGIA® in one product line, and will create advantages in maintenance, service, and spare parts stocking. These new developments will, from our two competence centers in Bodenheim, Germany (at the Development Center for GEA Hilge pumps) and in Büchen, Germany (for the GEA Tuchenhagen-VARIFLOW® range), consolidate expertise in customizing, modular design, production, logistics, maintenance, and much more – so that you can implement even more efficient and reliable hygienic processes.
