Leadership in process development and scale-up with the new GEA decanter pilotMaster

Maximum scale-up reliability and optimum process safety are offered by GEA's new decanter pilotMaster. For product developments in the large chemical sector, the GEA pilotMaster is an important, indispensable tool - and an individual one.

The pilotMaster is a robust decanter for smaller production volumes and for upscaling tests, optionally available in ATEX design. It is protected against erosion and corrosion, as all parts in contact with the product are made of high-alloy duplex steels, super duplex steels or Hastelloy C276.

Chemical cleaning after the separation process is possible.

Reliable scaling

The pilotMaster is the ideal machine for reliable scaling to the respective production capacity. It offers maximum drum speed flexibility from 1,000 RPM to 6,500 RPM, a differential speed range from 1 to 80 RPM without changing pulleys, and the same geometric configuration as the larger production machines.

Mobile Test Center with an end-to-end process line

The MTC comprises eight industry-approved, food-grade technologies, including the GEA multifunctional fermenters or bioreactors as well as equipment for mixing, heat treatment, homogenization, separation and filtration. With the freedom to alter the sequence of the various steps and add or repeat process stages, customers are empowered to test cultivation and fermentation strategies as well as product recovery. Thanks to the test center’s flexible process architecture, GEA can individually configure, install and commission the plant on site.

The Home and Personal Care (HPC) industry serves fast-growing, brand-driven markets for products as diverse as shampoo and toothpaste, laundry detergents and all-purpose cleaners. GEA Hilge CONTRA:

CONTRA pumps are designed according to the world's highest hygiene requirements, are CIP and SIP capable and facilitate the qualification of the pump in the plant through extensive customer and requirement-specific documentation and certificates. The single- or multi-tstage pumps offer extremely reliable operation under tough operating conditions. The hygienic design in every detail and the use of pore-free materials provide perfect solutions to numereous tasks in sterile proccesses, especially WFI loops. 

GEA Hilge SIPLA-HT: 

The single-stage self-priming SIPLA pump series is especially suited for SIP/CIP return systems and applications with high gas content. The special variant SIPLA-HT for pharma and biotech applications is a robust high-precision construction with optimized hydraulic design for better efficiency. Parts in contact with the product are made of milled stainless steel, free of cast material and blowholes. Right-and left-hand rotation can be freely adjusted for additional application options.

GEA Hilge NOVATWIN: 

The GEA Hilge NOVATWIN twin-srew pump allows production and cleaning with only one pump by variable speeds up to 3000 rpm. Its self-priming capability of up to 8 meters opens new application fields.

The pump design ensures gentle product handling with almost no pulsation, which makes the pump especially suitable for large and delicate particles.

The pump’s hygienic design ensures quick and safe cleanability, saving time and resources while increasing production safety.

Hygienic & Aseptic Valves

GEA Valve technology

GEA valves meet the particularly high requirements within sterile, aseptic and hygienic processes. As product and process safety is the highest priority within these applications, our valves are equipped with a hermetic sealing element to prevent any ingress of microorganisms into a sterile process.

Our valve series include all valve types required for optimal execution of processes in the pharmaceutical sector for different levels of sterility. The spectrum ranges from shut-off to double-seat and tank bottom valves, as well as an extensive portfolio of special valves.

The typical applications fill from upstream to downstream processes including black and clean media and also fill and finish.

Aseptic tank bottom Valves: 

Aseptic and UltraClean tank bottom valves are used to enable controlled draining and sample functions at a tank. Our valve range covers everything from single-seat to mixproof shut-off tank bottom valves. 

Our three valve lines D-tec®, VESTA® and Aseptomag® are true asset for applications in the pharmaceutical, biotech and cosmetics industry and distinguish themselves via the hermetic sealing concept. The Aseptomag® valve line is based on stainless steel bellows technology, where the D-tec® valve line uses stem diaphragm technology to hermetically seal the sterile process pipe against the atmosphere. The VESTA® valve line bases on PTFE bellows technology. 

VARIVENT® Mixproof Valve Type MX: 

The new GEA VARIVENT® Mixproof valve type MX offers innovative technologies as essential elements of future-oriented safety concepts. 

The key to this latest advance in the GEA VARIVENT® concept are technical developments in crucial details that make it possible to prevent incompatible media from mixing under all conceivable conditions and thus to meet the highest safety requirements and is therefore suitable for various applications from pharmaceutical to food industries.

Magnetic Separator ASEPTOMAG® MAS:

Magnetic separators of the type MAS H extract magnetic particles from the product. The innovative locking device enables maximum product and process safety while the manual deactivation of the magnetic field reduces plant downtime. 

LoTo - Lock Out, Tag Out: 

The Lock out, Tag out (LoTo) device is used to ensure a safe maintenance and commissioning of process plants. Energy sources will be locked and visually marked to prevent the unintentional movement of the valve.

Leakage Valve ASEPTOMAG® LV:

Aseptomag® leakage valves are used for the mixproof shut-off of incompatible products at pipe junctions in UltraClean processing plants.The valve design is characterized by the sealing of the moving valve stems with stainless steel bellows and the leakage area which is open to atmosphere. Due to these two characteristics, the valve enables a simplified process compared to true aseptic installations but still provides enhanced product safety by having hermetically sealed valve stems.

The new Orbital Cleaner OC100 is the smallest and second modular cleaner of the range. This cleaner is designed for most efficient cleaning of small and mid-sized vessels and demanding cleaning tasks in various applications, e.g. in the chemical or phama industry.

Free rotating Cleaner Turbodisc:

The rotating spray cleaner Turbodisc offer low cost and professional cleaning performance by instant uniform coverage of all internal surfaces. Therefore they are suitable for the chemical and nuclear industry where high cleaning performance is required. And furthermore for pharmaceutical and food industry where FDA compliance, and heightened standards of hygiene and performance are necessary.

Spray Balls:

Spray balls are the main components for cleaning tanks and vessels, e.g. storage tanks, CIP tanks, milk collecting trucks. They offer a variety of sizes, flow rates and configurations for a broad scope of cleaning jobs. Spray balls as static cleaners are designed for flush cleaning with a high flow rate, thus providing powerful flushing at low pressure.
