Interview with Dirk and Bart

GEA Bar Craft Beer Othmar

5 Questions to: Othmar / Netherlands

GEA: How do you benefit from using our plug & win centrifuge skid?

Othmar: The GEA plug & win centrifuge gives us flexibility in various way. In the beginning, it helped us to exceed our production capacity substantially without investing in more space and tanks.

GEA: You mean, the centrifuge shortens production times without loss of quality?

Othmar: Absolutely. We can start the next batch much earlier. When we need the centrifuge we bring it to the tank. It does the clarification within a very short time, safes time, space and therefore investments to grow.

GEA: You move the centrifuge to the tank whenever you need it?

We think it is great that we can simply move this separator skid.  Just attach the tubes and start. So we are still just as dynamic as we were before and can put it where ever we need.

GEA: And, which other advantages have been identified?

Othmar: The centrifuge is very important to us. We were able to ensure that our wheat beer became both clearer and more stable in less time. And consistency batch by batch is one of every brewer’s priorities.

GEA: Can we assume you recommend our centrifuge skid?

Othmar: Yes, it keeps us very efficient, flexible and delivers a consistent high beer quality. Absolutely delicious beers brewed after the German Reinheitsgebot.

The centrifuge does it!

The mixture to be separated enters the rotating centrifuge bowl – with a combined surface equivalent to 80 soccer fields. The higher density of the solids means they are forced towards the bottoms and the outer solids discharge chamber. The remaining liquid in the disk stack is caught by a centripetal pump and moved to the outlet pipe at the top end of the centrifuge.
