On the occasion of the international trade fair Anuga FoodTec 2015 in Cologne (Germany) GEA presents its new GEA S-Tec range of spiral freezers and coolers.
GEA S-Tec in a nutshell
The new spiral freezers and coolers “S-Tec” are primarily developed for the European market. They are designed to chill and freeze a wide variety of food products. The systems are available in a number of versions. With drum diameters of approx. 2.4 to 5.4 m and with three standard conveyor-belt widths (660, 760, and 1060 mm) GEA S-Tec freezers and coolers can be matched to the type, weight, and size of the food products. Depending on the product, the GEA S-Tec range can process up to 7 metric tons per hour. The GEA S-Tec is also available with sequential defrost as an option to enable three-shift production over a period of several days.
The new spiral freezers feature many hygienic features as standard, for example, a fully welded floor and open steel sections used for the framework. In addition there are also options such as a fully welded and easily cleaned enclosure and advanced cleaning systems. The GEA S-Tec is designed to enable an easy installation on production floors where space is restricted. The GEA S-Tec is available as either a conventional low tension spiral, or, as an option with DDS (direct drive system) which can offer reduced belt tensions and smoother running. The construction of the drum is designed for fast setup and efficient local installation. This flexibility continues throughout various single- and dual-drum designs and offers several possibilities for infeed and outfeed conveyors. As a result, it is easily possible to integrate a GEA S-Tec system in existing production lines. The new freezers and coolers not only combine the positive characteristics of other series in one modular concept: they also offer the benefits of numerous innovations – for example, optimized operator-friendly controls, and safety functions especially designed for operational conditions in Europe.
