The FDA’s PAT (Process Analytical Technology) initiative has enabled GEA to combine its equipment design skills and process engineering know-how in order to integrate online analyzers and measurement devices into its process systems in a way which can provide real insight into the operation of the process and help customers achieve key product quality target. The goal of the PAT initiative is to ensure that products are manufactured using processes which are understood and monitored so that the key quality characteristics of the products can be actively controlled.
Lighthouse Probe™ - online measurement
The Lighthouse Probe™ can be used for real-time monitoring of chemical and pharmaceutical processes and provides in-process window cleaning at any time, recalibration during the process, full CIP (cleaning) of wash housing and seal, and a clear view inside – even in difficult conditions.
VARINLINE® Level Probe TNS
In connection with a standard evaluation unit, the conductive electrode is mainly used for level detection in tanks.
VARINLINE® Pocket-free Instruments
In the current process technology, fixed piping systems lead to permanently closed systems within the single plants which do not allow the operator to have a direct view into the production process. By equipping the pipelines with VARINLINE® housings, control and measurement instruments can be installed within the piping systems to monitor the production process.
VARINLINE® Sight Glass TXIA
Sight glasses inserted into the VARINLINE® access unit or into a housing connection flange (for vessels and tanks) are used for visual monitoring of the product.
The indication instrument is filled with glycerine (conform with FDA regulations) or with isolation oil in cases of the presence of limit switches to achieve a damping behavior during high vibrations as well as to avoid condensation during the use at different temperatures. Thus, it ideally meets the high requirements of hygienic design and processing. Several orientations of the thermometer are available to enable a proper readability of the instrument in different installation positions.
