Mixing & Blending
The extensive process knowledge of GEA and continuous research delivers the most efficient mixers and blenders. We offer a wide range of technical solutions and process options to ensure efficient mixing and blending of pharmaceutical powders and granules.
Container (IBC) Mixing & Blending
Shorter loading and unloading times, reduced cleaning time of both machinery and room, improved containment and batch integrity have established IBC blending as the pharmaceutical industry’s technology of choice. The GEA Pedestal blender range allows blending in all volumes of IBC system up to 3000 L capacity.
Efficient Blending Process
GEA has spent years researching and understanding the science of IBC blending. Homogenous product blending is ensured through scientific design of the blending cage and the container geometry. The unique Prism™ technology is proven to improve blending times. The additional shear that the Prism™ provides to the mixing process allows even cohesive poorly flowing materials to be blended within an IBC System.
Post Hoist Blending
The GEA blender range is extended further with our range of post hoist blenders. All of the features and benefits of the pedestal blenders are repeated with the post hoist range, but with the added benefits of elevating the IBC after blending - allowing for direct discharge into a downstream process.
High Shear Mixing
GEA supplies a complete range of High Shear mixer / granulators. This includes small capacity systems designed for R&D as well as industrial size plants for batch production of pharmaceutical compounds under cGMP conditions.
Using proven standard components, GEA can supply both simplicity and flexibility in plant design. User selected process options, cleaning equipment, control systems and PAT technologies combine in a system to meet process requirements exactly. This approach ensures that qualification and validation procedures are kept to a minimum.
