GEA, one of the largest equipment and solutions supplier for the food processing industry, has signed an agreement to acquire VIPOLL, a family owned manufacturer of filling technologies for carbonated soft drinks, beer and fresh milk products. The acquisition strengthens GEA’s market position as a total solutions provider in the beverage processing industry.
GEA’s order intake in the third quarter of 2017 was EUR 1,057 million and 2.5 percent below the previous year’s level. In terms of revenue, the Business Area (BA) Solutions in particular made gains, with overall group revenue increasing by 2.7 percent to EUR 1,131 million.
The GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft is selling its ice machine production in the French town of Les Sorinières, near Nantes, following a management buyout. A corresponding agreement was signed by GEA and Serge Vidal, whose responsibilities include being Head of Supply Chain and Production for ice machines at GEA in France.
