On November 1, 2004, Jürg Oleas was appointed Chief Executive Officer of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft, and has been a member of the executive board since joining the group in May 2001.
At that time, he was responsible in the executive board for the chemical activities such as Dynamit Nobel AG.
Before joining the GEA Group, he spent nearly 20 years with ABB and the Alstom Group where he held several management positions.
Jürg Oleas, a Swiss national, was born in Quito, Ecuador, in December 1957. In 1981, he got a master of science in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Dr. Helmut Schmale has been a member of the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft since April 1, 2009. As of April 22, 2009, he responsible for finance.
Previously, he had held several management positions within GEA for around 16 years. For example, he has been CFO of the Board of the Division Energy Technology for 6 years and afterwards President (CEO) of that GEA division former called Thermal Engineering for 5 years.
Dr. Helmut Schmale was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, in November 1956. In 1982, he got his graduate degree in business administration and economy from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, where he received a doctorate in theoretical macroeconomics in 1986.
Markus Hüllmann has been appointed as a member of the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft on April 1, 2013. Since April 19, 2013, he is responsible for the segments GEA Mechanical Equipment and GEA Refrigeration Technologies.
Markus Hüllmann joined former Westfalia Separator AG in 1995. After assignments on behalf of GEA Group, mainly in the areas of sales and engineering in Germany and overseas and several years’ experience as manager of a business unit, he has been at the helm of Segment GEA Mechanical Equipment as Segment President since 2010. For a transition period of 1-2 years, Markus Hüllmann will continue to lead the Segment GEA Mechanical Equipment.
Markus Hüllmann was born in July 1968 in Paderborn, Germany. He holds an MBA from Duke University and engineering degree in dairy technology from Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Dr. Stephan Petri has been appointed as a member of the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Human Resources, Legal/Compliance, the segment GEA Farm Technologies and for the Group’s Other Companies on June 1, 2012.
In addition he also performs the function of Labor Relations Director. He was previously Head of Legal at GEA since 2005, as well as already Chief Compliance Officer from 2006 on and later also Head of Other Companies.
Before joining GEA, Dr. Stephan Petri was an attorney at an international law firm and later worked in the legal department of Hoechst, where he finally held the position of head of the holding legal department at Aventis.
Dr. Stephan Petri was born in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, in February 1964 and has dual German-US citizenship. He studied law at the universities of Bonn, Geneva (Switzerland) and Cologne, obtained his doctorate with a thesis on comparative law, and passed the second state examination in law in 1995.
