Since April 22, 2009, Dr. Helmut Schmale is responsible for Finance on the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft. He has been a member of the executive board since April 1, 2009. Previously, he had held several management positions within GEA for around 16 years. For example, he has been CFO of the Board of the Division Energy Technology for 6 years and afterwards President (CEO) of that GEA division former called Thermal Engineering for 5 years.
Dr. Helmut Schmale was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, in November 1956. In 1982, he got his graduate degree in business administration and economy from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, where he received a doctorate in theoretical macroeconomics in 1986.
