Dr. Stephan Petri has been appointed as a member of the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Human Resources, Legal/Compliance, the segment GEA Farm Technologies and for the Group’s Other Companies on June 1, 2012. In addition he also performs the functions of Labor Relations Director and Chief Compliance Officer. He was previously Head of Legal at GEA since 2005, as well as already Chief Compliance Officer from 2006 on and later also Head of Other Companies.
Before joining GEA, Dr. Stephan Petri was an attorney at an international law firm and later worked in the legal department of Hoechst, where he finally held the position of head of the holding legal department at Aventis.
Dr. Stephan Petri was born in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, in February 1964 and has dual German-US citizenship. He studied law at the universities of Bonn, Geneva (Switzerland) and Cologne, obtained his doctorate with a thesis on comparative law, and passed the second state examination in law in 1995.
