Nozzle centrifuges are continuously operating machines that clarify liquids while concentrating solids. The concentrated solids are discharged continuously through nozzles. The clarified liquid is discharged either by a built-in centripetal pump or gravity. Solids concentration of up to 70 percent by volume can be for example obtained in case of starch. Nozzle centrifuges are available in clarifier and separator design.
