Bochum/Hanover, 11 November 2008 – From automatic milking systems to mobile slurry technology to herd management software for cattle farming: When GEA Farm Technologies present their products at EuroTier 2008, being held from 11 to 14 November in Hanover, trade visitors can expect to be provided with an extensive insight into the innovative product spectrum of the successful Farm Technologies Division of the GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft. GEA Farm Technologies renowned for exceptional system solutions in profitable milk production and livestock breeding will be showcasing its products in the Lower Saxony capital on an area of 1000 sqm on Stand G40 in Hall 27. As in previous years, a number of innovative products were submitted for award in the run-up to EuroTier. Among the 243 innovative products, 17 were awarded medals by an independent committee of experts – including two innovative products "Made by GEA".
First silver awarded at EuroTier in 2008: A new type of teat locating system of the milking robot of GEA Farm Technologies. This innovation uses concept, whereby the camera not only scans the complete udder, but also the milking cup as well as the entire attachment process. The benefit of the system: Distinctly increased attachment reliability, which in difficult conditions in particular, such as moving cows, is an advantage. The second silver award was presented for the IQ milking unit. The innovative four-way milking unit with specially shaped milking guide tube is characterised, among other things by the fact that it prevents vacuum fluctuations and the ingress of dirt particles.
